Parent Pop In

A warm safe place to bring children to play and socialise

The Parent Pop In runs weekly in term time on a Thursday between 1 pm and 3.15 pm in the heart of Brixington at the Community Church.

This is a new venture that has been asked for by the parents of Exmouth/Brixington. It is a warm safe place to bring children to play and socialise with an opportunity for adults to use the community cafe and have lunch or cake and a refreshing drink. There are bargains to be had with a clothes swap and some opportunities to buy things.

Most weeks there is a craft table including activities like card making, decorating biscuits, play dough or painting for all to enjoy. A baby changing room and buggy park are all at hand to make the time here easy and stress free.

See below some comments the people of Exmouth have given us:

  • "A wonderful facility at last in Brixington."
  •   "I so look forward to coming here on a Thursday. "

"Parent Pop In" has had over 50 different families attending it at different times. Some of these parents have asked for a helping hand and we've been able to assist in different ways through our staff.  We can apply for grants if required. We have supported people with housing issues, financial planning, parenting advice and many other issues offered by our family support worker and the team.

Parents with very young babies have ventured in to find a friendly face and a warm welcome. Isolation can be a big problem for new mums and this is a perfect place to visit free. We have a few parents that come in before the school run and enjoy a coffee and cake. Grandparents who are in charge on a Thursday have also enjoyed Popping in.
