Sundays at Brixington Community Church

A guide to Sunday worship and groups

What happens on Sunday

We gather for morning worship every Sunday at 10:30am here at Brixington Community Church for about one and half hours until 12:00 noon.  Following the service you are very welcome to stay for a tea or a coffee so that we might get to know you better.

Worship Style

Our service is an open and free style of worship, combining contemporary worship with some older hymns and this is led by our band.

We use a projection system for displaying the words to the songs we are singing and these are located either side of the main stage. We also use the screen to detail events, notices and images that help enrich our worship.

Please feel free to stand, sit or dance as the Spirit leads you. If you have a word or a picture from the Spirit which you feel prompted to share, please see the Duty Elder.

Offering

We take up an offering during each service as part of our worship to God, in support of Christian work in this church and around the world.  However, please do not feel that you have to contribute, you are our guests - we’re just glad that you are here!

Church Bible

We use the New International Version (NIV) during the service and you can find copies on the bookcase at the back of the church, along with large print versions, should you wish to use one.

Children & Young People

Children and young people join in our morning service for about the first 15 minutes, then they leave to go to their own groups.  If you have children with you, and would like them to join these groups, they would be very welcome.  However, we do not mind if your children stay with you - we do not mind noise during the service.  There are colouring books and toys at the back of the church for you to use.

Crèche

There is a crèche available during the service. Please ask a Steward if you require this facility.

Prayer Ministry Team

If you would like someone to pray with you, members of our Prayer Ministry Team are available at the front of the church after the service. Please move to the front of the church and they will assist you.

Duty Steward

If you have any questions or concerns, the Duty Stewards will do their best to help you.

Hearing Aid Loop

The church is served by a hearing loop. Users should turn their hearing aid to the setting marked ‘T’ during the service to access this facility.

Mobile Telephones

Please remember to switch off any mobile phones during the service as this can interfere with the wireless microphones.

Refreshments

Tea and Coffee are provided at the end of the service in the church hall.  Do join us there if you are able.
